<p>The Venezuelan filmmaker Patricia Ortega (<em>Espiga Arcoiris</em> at SEMINCI 2018 for <em>Yo, Imposible</em>) pays tribute to mothers and grandmothers who choose to take control of their lives beyond social norms and religious traditions. It all began five years ago when Ortega stumbled upon a photograph of her mother—nude—tucked away in a drawer. That image confronted her: <em>"She had a past I knew nothing about; I only knew her as a mother, not as a woman."</em></p>
<p>From that reflection emerged this intimate and joyful comedy, in which Cruz (Kiki Mánver), a devout grandmother, has gone decades without experiencing certain pleasures. One day, by chance, she begins to feel sensations she thought had long vanished—sparking a personal awakening that will turn her life upside down and shatter long-held barriers.</p>

"The inspiration for filming <em>La Soledad</em> comes from the director’s childhood experiences at his grandparents’ family home in Caracas, Venezuela. After spending years abroad, he returned to the country to shoot a film in that house—a work that navigates between documentary and fiction.
<p>The house itself becomes a character: practically abandoned by his family, it is now on the verge of collapse. It has become home to new occupants—Rosina, who once worked as a maid for the owners, and her grandson José. When the <em>"true owners"</em> decide to demolish it, the <em>"usurpers"</em> must find somewhere else to go.</p>

Animated documentary written and directed by Venezuelan journalist and writer Héctor Torres, produced by La Vida de Nos (Caracas). The film reconstructs six testimonial stories of Venezuelan migrants who attempted to leave the country and either perished or were forced to return, including cases of death in the Darién Gap, detention at the border, and disappearance at sea.
