There, his characters move within a framework where man's most savage instincts are unleashed—once all traces of those civilizing fictions that sustain life in society have collapsed, giving way to his most primitive nature. With a tone that, at times, plunges into the parody, the author shows these lovers who symbolize the two most despicable sins for militaristic fanaticism: homosexuality and betrayal of the cause, which is the betrayal of a religion in which a man acts as God and paradise ends up converted into hell.
